1. WHAT IS “CALORIES AGAINST HUNGER”?

“Calories against hunger” is a RunnerSquare's charity project, with the objective to make a donation every time a RunnerSquare runner burns a minim of 1,500 calories (12.4 miles), in a month.

The burned calories are transferred by Intermon Oxfam, to the neediest groups. In the world, more than 800million people suffer from hunger.

The main objective of the first phase of this project, is to burn a minimum of 50 million calories before June 30th 2016.

2. GET INVOLVED

To get involved into this project and transform your calories into €, it is necessary to be a RunnerSquare member.

Once you are a RunnerSquare member, the involvement in this project is automatic. Every time you are going to run with the app or you use another devise for the latter importation of data to RunnerSquare, your burned calories will be given to this charity project.

3. REQUIREMENTS SO THAT YOUR BURNED CALORIES ARE COUNTED AS A DONATION

We are going to give €1/month for every user that burns 1,500 calories (12.4 miles) in a month.

If less calories are burned or less km are done, the proportional part is going to be counted as a donation.

If more than 1,500 calories are burned or more miles are run, the maximum money a runner can donate is 1€ per month (12€ per year).

Only the certified calories will count in favour of the project. It will be necessary that every workout or race is saved with the GPS track (map)

The workouts with a pace lower than 5:38'/mile, will not be counted.

If a dishonest behaviour or bad practice is identified the user will be ejected of “Calories against hunger” and can be blocked in RunnerSquare.

4. WHERE DO THE CALORIES IN FORM OF EUROS GO?

The burned calories in form of euros go to Intermon Oxfam, which is the NGO in charge of transferring the “social energy” generated by all of you to fight against hunger in the world.

5. WHO IS FUNDING THE PROJECT?

This project is funded by RunnerSquare and the collaboration of other businesses and organizations.

6. MEASUREMENT AND AUDIT OF THE PROJECT
